KK&P Partners take part in Dubai Arbitration Week 2025

On 13 November, KK&P Trial Lawyers and Al Tamimi & Company held a joint seminar entitled The Impact of Russian Cases on Assets and Proceedings in MENA and Western Countries.

The speakers were: KK&P Partners Maxim Kulkov, Oleg Kolotilov and Nikolay Pokryshkin, and Al Tamimi & Company Partner Igor Gorchakov.

The speakers discussed the following issues:

  1. Why should Russian claimants go to domestic courts on the basis of Article 248.1 of the RF CPC, and foreign defendants defend themselves there?
  2. The possibility of enforcement of judgments in relation to such disputes abroad and, in particular, in the Middle East.
  3. The probability and consequences of the bankruptcy of foreign companies and their subsidiaries in Russia.
  4. Anti-suit injunctions: the attitude of UAE courts towards ASIs adopted in Russia and other jurisdictions (for example, in England), as well as the practice of obtaining ASIs in the UAE.
