Maxim Kulkov spoke at RusFor (Russian Speaking Legal Professionals’ Forum) devoted to an interplay between Russian and English law in international disputes

Maxim Kulkov, Managing Partner of KK&P Trial Lawyers, spoke about Application of Article 1064 of the RF Civil Code by English Courts and answered the three hottest questions of the topic:

–           Should a claimant prove unlawfulness of the defendant’s acts?

–           Can a tort claim protect contractual rights?

–           Can a pure economic loss be protected by a tort claim?

referring to the three English court cases where he served as an expert in Russian law, namely: JSC BM Bank v Vladimir Kekhman (2018), Yukos Finance B.V. & Ors v Stephen Lynch & Ors (2019), PJSC Tatneft v Gennady Bogolyubov & Ors (2021).
