On 28 January, Maxim Kulkov will speak at the C5 conference in London on the Impact of Russian and Foreign Sanctions on Disputes in Russian Courts
KK&P Managing Partner Maxim Kulkov will be a speaker on the Recent Developments in Russia Sanctions panel at the annual International Disputes and Asset Recovery Involving Former Soviet Union Parties Conference.
Maxim will focus on two things:
- Lugovoy’s draft law on changes to the Russian Commercial Procedure Code and Russian Civil Procedure Code in connection with US and EU sanctions, which would grant sanctioned Russian entities the right to unilaterally “drag” dispute resolution to Russia (read more); and
- a review of Russian court practice on the assessment of sanctions by the courts as force majeure, etc.
Along with the session leader Oksana Peters, a partner at Eversheds Sutherland, Maya Lester QC, barrister, Brick Court Chambers, will take part in the discussion.
The conference will take place on 28–29 January 2020 at the Le Meridien Piccadilly hotel, London.
