On 17 September, Nikolay Pokryshkin will speak at the XII ABA Conference on the Resolution of CIS-Related Business Disputes

Partner and Head of KK&P’s Insolvency Practice Nikolay Pokryshkin will participate in a discussion on current issues of bankruptcy proceedings and enforcing foreign bankruptcy decisions.

Nikolay will consider factors affecting creditor options where one of the parties to an arbitration becomes insolvent, i.e., skip an arbitration which has already started in favour of insolvency proceedings or proceed with the arbitration along with the bankruptcy.

Nikolay also will highlight general issues of settlement in arbitration with a party under insolvency proceedings.

The other participants will be Peter Ferrer (partner, Harneys) and Sergey Petrachkov (partner, ALRUD).

The American Bar Association’s (ABA) XII annual conference on resolution of CIS-related business disputes is organised by the Russian Arbitration Association. The conference traditionally brings together trial and corporate lawyers, experts in arbitration, judges, and science and business representatives to discuss current challenges to the resolution of business disputes in the CIS.
