Maxim Kulkov has been elected one of the members of the new committee on appointments of the ICC Russia Commission
Maxim Kulkov, KK&P law firm’s managing partner, has been elected one of the members of the new Committee on Appointments of the ICC Russia Commission. The term for the new members started on 15 July 2015.
Besides Maxim, the Committee will include Yulia Zagonek (White&Case), Alexander Muranov (Muranov, Chernyakov and Partners), Anton Asoskov and Sergey Lebedev (members of the ICC Russia Expert Council).
In 2015, the procedure for appointment of the members of the Committee changed. Now all members of the Committee are elected, not appointed, with rotation of two of the five members each year.
According to the Commission, “this provides each member of the Arbitration Commission with the opportunity to be included in the Committee on Appointments and be directly involved in the decision-making process regarding the nomination of arbitrators on behalf of the Russian Federation, as well as to be elected as an arbitrator”.
