On 9 July, Nikolay Pokryshkin will speak at the Arbitration and Fraud in Russia & CIS Informa Connect Online Conference

KK&P Partner and Head of Insolvency Practice Nikolay Pokryshkin will speak as part of “The very end of the line” panel about the difficulties faced by creditors whose claims are based on commercial arbitration awards in Russian bankruptcy proceedings using case studies.

Nikolay will focus on the following possible risks for creditors:

  • the possibility of a review of an arbitral award on its merits by a Russian court;
  • Russian court requirements with regard to proving the occurrence and “legitimacy” of an arbitration of a dispute between a creditor and the debtor.

Nikolay will advise how to minimise such risks by way of increasing the sustainability of arbitral awards in bankruptcy proceedings and secure recognition of claim by Russian courts.

Nikolay’s co-speakers will be Alexey Anischenko (Partner at Sorainen), Olexander Droug (Partner at Sayenko Kharenko), Alexei Dudko (Partner at Hogan Lovells CIS), and Rebecca Hume (Partner at Kobre & Kim).
